Everything begins with God.
We do not begin with ourselves, our questions, or our understanding. We begin with the God who has revealed Himself.

Everything begins with God.

We do not begin with ourselves, our questions, or our understanding.

We begin with the God who has revealed Himself.

For it is only in His light that we truly see light.

Everything else is our response. Everything we do is therefore joyful participation in what God has already begun.

This verse is more than the inspiration for our name. It expresses the heart of our ministry and the posture by which we seek to live. We do not claim to possess light within ourselves. We continually turn toward the One who is the Light of the world, trusting that as we behold Him, He enables us to see everything else rightly.

The Way of Light is not merely a way that leads to Jesus Christ.

It is a way of continually turning toward the God who has revealed Himself through Jesus Christ (Yeshua the Messiah), so that the Holy Spirit may continually restore us into His image and prepare us to faithfully participate in His Kingdom.

God's Story

We believe that all of Scripture is God's revelation of Himself.

From beginning to end, the Bible tells one unified story—the story of God's covenant faithfulness as He gathers a people for Himself, restores them to covenant relationship through Jesus Christ (Yeshua the Messiah), renews His image within them by the Holy Spirit, and prepares them to faithfully participate in His Kingdom until the renewal of all things.

Everything begins with God.

He reveals Himself. He gathers a people for Himself. He establishes covenant. He restores identity. He renews His image. He forms a covenant people for Himself. He entrusts His work. He sends them into His Kingdom.

Everything we do at The Way of Light seeks to joyfully participate in this divine work.

Our Calling

Our purpose is not simply to teach the Bible.

It is not merely to help people gain knowledge.

It is not even primarily to help people experience freedom.

Our calling is to help people continually turn toward the God who has revealed Himself through Jesus Christ (Yeshua the Messiah).

As they continually turn toward Him, He faithfully transforms them.

Formation is not ultimately our achievement. It is God’s continuing work within us.

Through His Word and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit, He faithfully restores His people to covenant relationship, renews His image within them, and prepares them for joyful participation in His Kingdom.

Our calling is not to transform ourselves, but to continually turn toward the One who is transforming us.

In turning toward Him again and again, we discover that He has been faithfully turning us toward Himself all along.

The Three Questions

The Way of Light therefore exists to help people continually return to three enduring questions:

Who is your God?

What covenant has He established with you?

How does He know you are His?

These are not merely questions to answer.

They are questions to live.

Each question gently turns our attention away from ourselves and back toward God.

They remind us that everything begins with Him—His revelation, His covenant, His faithfulness, and His gracious work of gathering a people for Himself.

They become a lifelong compass by which we continually reorient our hearts toward the One who first turned toward us.

As we return to these questions through Scripture, prayer, worship, faithful obedience, and life among the people God is gathering for Himself, our eyes are continually drawn back to Jesus Christ (Yeshua the Messiah), through whom God fulfills His covenant promises and reveals Himself most perfectly.

The Star

The Star of Bethlehem serves as the guiding symbol of The Way of Light because it beautifully reflects this calling.

The star did not create light.

It simply received the light God provided and faithfully guided seekers until they encountered Jesus Christ.

In the same way, our desire is never to draw attention to ourselves.

Our calling is simply to receive His light, faithfully point others toward Christ, and quietly step aside as they come to know Him more deeply.

If people remember The Way of Light more than they remember Jesus Christ, then we have failed in our calling.

If, however, people see Him more clearly, trust Him more fully, and continually turn toward God because we walked beside them, then we have fulfilled our purpose.

The Way

This is the way we seek to walk.

Continually turning toward the God who has revealed Himself through Jesus Christ.

Continually receiving His light.

Continually reflecting His light.

Continually reflecting His image as He restores us through His covenant faithfulness.

Continually participating in His work of gathering a people for Himself.

Until He is all that people see.

This is The Way of Light.
